Phenomenal sensor scan speeds and ultra-fast data readout fuel blazing AF calculations on a level with the Z8 and Z9, counter rolling shutter distortion, and enable EVF refresh rates of 60 fps during continuous shooting at 20 fps.

Flagship autofocus features bring you consistently reliable subject acquisition and tracking that won’t let go—even in the dark. Blisteringly fast AF calculations on a par with the Z8 and Z9 allow remarkable precision at high-speed frame rates, while deep-learning technology powers impressive subject detection in Auto-Area AF and Manual Focus, or when using Auto Capture. There are also dedicated subject detection modes for people and animals: tracking on the eyes is incredible, even if your subject is extremely small in the frame. If you’re shooting as daylight fades, before the sun rises, or at night, AF sensitivity down to –10 EV* means you can keep shooting longer. If you’re out in bright conditions, dedicated AF pixels on the camera’s sensor keep faces in focus even if they’re in shadow or backlit.

You can put rainy and dusty environments on your travel itinerary too: premium weather sealing protects the camera. Knocks and bumps won’t worry the Z6III. When the camera is powered off, a VR lock activates to prevent accidental damage to the sensor. Plus, the magnesium-alloy front cover keeps the camera light while also being incredibly resistant to impact.
Nikon’s renowned ergonomics and customization

Customisation inherited from the Nikon Z8 and Z9 cameras includes the ability to assign different AF-area modes to custom buttons: you’ll be able to switch AF modes quickly, whenever the situation asks for it. For viewfinder shooting, Touch FN lets you assign different functions—including focus point—to the high-resolution vari-angle touchscreen. With your eye to the viewfinder, you can move the focus point quickly and easily with a flick of your thumb. There are separate display interfaces for stills and video. Plus, the Z6III’s streamlined body still has space for two card slots—giving you options when it comes to shooting and storage. One slot supports high-performance CFexpress Type B cards or XQD cards, and one slot supports UHS-II SD cards.

With the Z6III full-frame camera, you’re free to roll without external monitors. In-camera recording up to 6K/60p (RAW) and 5.4K/60p (YUV) lets you deliver pristine footage straight from the camera, pull HD verticals for your socials—and so much more. You can create detail-rich 4K UHD/60p video oversampled from 6K in-camera. Or shoot 10-bit log files with extensive depth and dynamic range, ready for precise colour grading.
Film majestic slow motion at 240p
Show the beauty of the moves inside the moves with majestic slow-motion sequences. You can record full frame, Full HD footage at 240p (10x slow motion). Or tighten the view without changing lenses by recording in DX-crop mode at 4K/120p. The option to record in 10-bit H.265 gives you maximum flexibility over colour grading in post.
High-resolution vari-angle touchscreen
No matter which angle you’re filming from, the fully articulating 2100k-dot vari-angle touchscreen always gives you a clear, highly detailed view of the scene. Key shooting information including a waveform can be displayed, and a red border frame confirms you’re recording. Filming yourself? You can flip the screen around to a front-facing orientation.
